Training Sessions

These are off road running sessions led by either a Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF) or Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF) around the tracks and fells of Hamsterley Forest with the main aim of developing hill fitness, increasing confidence in off road running and most of all sharing the joy of running for fun across the varied terrain that fell running has to offer.

We meet on Thursday evenings in the main car park at Hamsterley Forest from 1850, ready to run at 1900 for a mixed gender training session. We meet on Tuesday evening at the same time and place for a ladies training session.

Kit required

Due to the off road nature and remote location of our sessions we ask that all attendees carry the following minimum kit to all sessions.

  • Off road running shoes
  • Waterproof jacket
  • Hat
  • Gloves
  • Whistle
  • Either mobile phone with emergency contact details stored or ICE contact card
